Krista Steinke: Olcott Family Award

Krista Steinke (Houston, TX) is a lens-based artist who has exhibited in museums and galleries across the country, as well as internationally. She holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and an MFA from The Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore. Awards include a Pennsylvania Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, grant from the Puffin Foundation, Artist Residency at Light Work, Image Award from CENTER, Promise Award from the Sustainable Arts Foundation, and 2007 Critical Mass Top 50 and Book Award Finalist. Her works are held by the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Atlanta; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia; and Brauer Museum of Art, Valparaiso, IN. Her photographs have been featured in Contact Sheet, EXIT, Feature Shoot, Le Journal de la Photographie, Lenscratch, Monthly Photography, The Photo Review, Square Magazine, and on the covers of The Literary Review and Oxford American. Steinke teaches in the Visualization Department at Texas A&M University, College Station.
