Gregory Paone (b. 1965, Philadelphia, PA) earned his BFA in Graphic Design from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia. After working in graphic design for five years, he founded Paone Design Associates. For more than twenty years, the work of his studio has been considered exemplary, receiving numerous awards and honors internationally, with features in more than 30 casebook publications worldwide. In 2013, Paone focused his long-time interest in letterpress on the founding of an exploratory studio and began development of proprietary initiatives investigating the potential of typography to promote intellectual growth. Paone’s “typefaced” initiative, which advocates for early childhood literacy, is recognized here in The Print Center’s 93rd ANNUAL International Competition.
