Odette England (lives Providence, RI and Long Island City, NY) received a BA and an MA from the University of South Australia, Adelaide and an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence. England was awarded her PhD in Fine Art from The Australian National University, Canberra, in 2018. She has exhibited in the United States and internationally in such venues as the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; Fort Wayne Museum of Art, IN; George Eastman Museum, Rochester, NY; and New Mexico Museum of Art, Santa Fe. She is a two-time United Kingdom winner of the Magenta Foundation Flash Forward Emerging Photographers Competition and in 2012 won the prestigious CENTER Project Launch Award. In 2015, England was shortlisted for the Australian Photo Book of the Year Award for her independent monograph Lover of Home. She is represented by Klompching Gallery, New York. England is also the director and curator of the Winter Garden Photograph Project. Her first edited volume Keeper of the Hearth will launch in spring 2020. England was awarded The Print Center’s Honorary Council Award of Excellence in the 92nd ANNUAL Competition.
