For more details about Nancy Citrino's work contact Eli VandenBerg, Gallery Store Manager - 215 735-6090 x1 or email evandenberg@printcenter.org
Nancy Citrino’s recent work is based on her observations of life in Rome, Italy. Her work uses very simplistic shapes and patterns to create the human form. She portrays the Romans as objects, and is fascinated by their attitudes and gestures. She is able to create an implied expression or an imposed personality without defining any facial features. The Print Center Gallery Store also has a series of her work which personifies man-made, functional, inanimate objects. In this series the objects suggest an animal posture or a human gesture. These objects have an imposed personality in the same manner as her expressionless figures. Nancy Citrino’s work has been exhibited in both group and solo shows throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding area as well as some exhibitions in Florence and Rome, Italy. Her most recent solo show was held at the Da Vinci Art Alliance in November of 2003. She has also been exhibited at Philadelphia Sketch Club, Tyler Art Gallery, University of the Arts, Pennsylvania Academy of the Arts, Fleisher Art Memorial among others. Her work is represented in many private collections in the United States, Italy, Israel and Brazil. Her work is also in many public collections including McGraw-Hill Publishers, Columbus, OH; American Express, New York, NY; Price Water House, Philadelphia, PA.
