Mitch Lyons is best known
for his clay monotype printmaking process. For almost 40 years he has
been making images from a slab of clay and colored slips made with permanent
pigment. The colors created through this unique process are deep and
vibrant with an unparallel richness. His lively abstract images demonstrate
an instinctual understanding of color and composition. Lyons has shown
widely both nationally and internationally and his works have been purchased
by institutions such as the American University and the Brooklyn Museum
of Art.
