Kristen
Martincic draws her inspiration from the relationships
people share with each other, their surroundings and their own bodies.
She uses
simplified shapes to indicate the human form in her work. Color is used
to provide the context and understanding of the composition. “As
individuals we experience awkward moments, hesitations, and tentative
feelings in out daily lives. It is the honesty, beauty, vulnerability,
and humor of these moments that I strive to capture,” says Martincic.
