Artist Statement
It begins with a mark. Whether it is a painting a print or a drawing,
the journey begins with a mark. I can draw the mass of the mountain,
but prefer to enter it. I can paint the bluest ocean, but prefer to let
it carry me. I can create a tree, but prefer to become it. My work takes
me to places I have never been before. It shows me colors I have only
dreamed, and images I have never seen. It is an archeological exploration
of the self. It is a personal adventure that attempts to lead to something
new, something fresh. Going within is a mystical, magical and sometimes
scary experience. It defies complacency and spirit is my compass.
