For more than forty years, Cyrus has documented Afrodescendant communities across the United States, Brazil, Cuba and Africa. Working primarily in black-and-white film, but also recently in color, his images move between documentary, portraiture and surrealism, revealing both the beauty of everyday life and the enduring legacies of Africa. His gelatin silver prints capture a full spectrum of tones, offering intimate, humanistic portraits that resist archetypes and highlight the richness of lived experience.
This event is free and open to the public.
Registration not required for in-person attendance.
