50 Years of Philadelphia Women Arts Leaders
October 17 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Presented in-person and on Zoom
(Rescheduled from May)
Join us for a discussion exploring 50 Years of Philadelphia’s Women Arts Leaders. Since its founding in 2015, 9 out of 10 of The Print Center’s Directors have been women. Elizabeth Spungen, (Executive Director since 2006), will be joined by former Directors Christine Filippone (1998 – 2003) and Ofelia Garcia (1978 – 1986) for a discussion moderated by colleague Thora Jacobson (Director of Fleisher Art Memorial 1972 – 2006; Philadelphia Art Alliance 2014 – 2018). They will discuss their experiences related to being a woman arts leader in Philadelphia – and the challenges and circumstances unique to that position. We will also explore how that role has changed, what has not, and what change they worked to render.
Registration not required for in-person attendance.
This program is presented as part of (re)FOCUS, a citywide project celebrating and reflecting on 50 years of feminism in the arts.
