Summer Soirée with Ron Tarver

We are pleased to invite you to a Summer Soirée! Join us for our spring fundraiser with special guest Ron Tarver, a Pulitzer Prize-winning, Philadelphia-based photographer.
The evening will begin at 5:30pm with delicious hors d’oeuvres and summer cocktails. Guests will also enjoy a final look at America Today: Voices in Contemporary Print and a sneak preview of our fall exhibition.

Experience an intimate, guided walkthrough with Jensen Bryan Curator Lauren Rosenblum.

Hear about our fall exhibition, The Long Ride Home, Black Cowboys in America from Ron Tarver, who will share stories about his multi-decade project on Black cowboy culture.
Supporters will enjoy cocktails and conversation with Tarver and tour of America Today. ($250 per person)

Ron Tarver is a Philadelphia-based, internationally recognized photographer. Born in Oklahoma, he has a BA in Journalism and Graphic Arts from Northeastern State University, OK and an MFA from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia. He is a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist from his years at The Philadelphia Inquirer; he also received awards from World Press Photos and the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Pew Fellowship in the Arts. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is included in collections including: National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution; Studio Museum in Harlem; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He is Associate Professor of Art, Swarthmore College.
