He is a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist from his years at The Philadelphia Inquirer; he also received awards from World Press Photos and the Society of Professional Journalists\, as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Pew Fellowship in the Arts. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is included in collections including: National Museum of American Art\, Smithsonian Institution; Studio Museum in Harlem; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He is Associate Professor of Art\, Swarthmore College.
