DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an outing to New York City where we will have exclusive behind-the-scenes access to studios\, artists\, demos and curator led exhibition tours!\nSaturday\, June 2\, 2018 | Venues: Pace Paper\, Dieu Donne and IPCNY\nIn conjunction with our exhibition Collaborative Histories: Dieu Donné\, we are pleased to offer a trip to New York to visit the new home of Dieu Donné in the Brooklyn Navy Yard\, as well as the Brooklyn home of Pace Paper – the printshop of Pace Prints and IPCNY in Manhattan for a tour of their highly acclaimed Paper/Print: American Hand Papermaking\, 1960s to Today exhibition with curators Sue Gosin and Mina Takahashi of Dieu Donné. \nAt Pace Paper we will be met by master printer Ruth Lingen who will be joined by one of the artists currently printing for Pace. Our next stop will be Dieu Donné\, where we will enjoy a tour of their wet papermaking studio and talk with Tatiana Ginsberg and visiting artist Ethan Greenbaum about his current project. Marsha + Stephen Silberstein in their spectacular Liberty Place home.\nFriday\, June 8\, 2018\nThe evening begins at The Print Center with a private champagne tour of the solo exhibitions from the 92ND ANNUAL with Executive Director Elizabeth Spungen at 6 pm. \nDinner follows at the art filled home of the Silbersteins\, where we will be treated to a view of their exceptional contemporary photography\, print\, sculpture and glass collections. \n \nTickets range from $100 – $1\,200 with various benefits. For subscription levels and tickets click here. \nGuests at the Benefactor level or above will receive signed copies of Eureka\, an artist book by Jane Irish and Crispin Sartwell based on Edgar Allan Poe’s essay on the nature of the universe and a new monograph\, Jane Irish: Architectures of Resistance\, published by Locks Gallery in conjunction with the exhibitions Jane Irish: Antipodes at Philadelphia’s historic Lemon Hill presented by Philadelphia Contemporary and Architectures of Resistance at Locks Gallery. \n \nJan Gordon is an exceptional art collector with a long connection to The Print Center\, developed through her friendship with Sam Maitin\, Kneeland McNulty and Berthe von Moschzisker. She has a special interest in Philadelphia artists which she initially explored with gallerist Marian Locks. Gordon enjoys acquiring artworks by artists she knows personally\, especially women. She has built a collection featuring Maitin\, Elizabeth Osborne and Edna Andrade; and more recently\, has become a dedicated collector of Jane Irish’s remarkable works. \nJane Irish is an outstanding Philadelphia artist. She has been in important exhibitions at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts\, Philadelphia Museum of Art and ICA\, Philadelphia; the Walker Art Center; Contemporary Arts Center\, New Orleans; Museum of Fine Arts\, Houston; and the Baltimore Museum of Art. She has received prestigious recognitions from the Pew Fellowships in the Arts\, the Joan Mitchell Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts as well as residencies all over the world. Irish is represented by Locks Gallery. \nDrs. Marsha + Stephen Silberstein have created a home filled with an impressive collection of art\, with an especially strong selection of classic and contemporary photographs. They have works of art from all over the world\, as well as an exceptional group of pieces by Philadelphia artists.
