SUMMARY:Book Launch & Conversation: Theatrum Equorum by Andrea Modica
DESCRIPTION:Detail from Theatrum Equorum \n\nAt The Print Center and on Zoom \nJoin us as we host a Book Launch & Conversation with Andrea Modica and learn more about her new publication\, Theatrum Equorum\, published by TIS Books. Presented in conjunction with Modica’s eponymous exhibition at the Berman Museum of Art\, Ursinus College\, she will be joined in conversation by the show’s curator and Berman Museum Creative Director\, Deborah Barkun; and Nelson Chan\, co-founder of TIS Books. \n\n\n\nModica’s series “Theatrum Equorum” captures horses in states of recovery from surgery after procedures such as fracture repair or tooth extraction. It also includes images of the surgical tools essential for these procedures. \nThere’s something sacred about about the animals and the process of being able to go through this with them—a state of extreme vulnerability for an animal of that power. \n— Andrea Modica \nTheatrum Equorum is published by TIS Books and is available for preorder! Purchase a copy \n  \n\nRegister for Zoom\nRegistration not required to attend in-person \n  \n  \nTheatrum Equorum is on view at the Berman Museum of Art through December 11\, 2022. \n
