She has spent the past fifteen years exhibiting and working with artists who create dynamic objects that generate commentary relevant to diverse communities. Gant was previously the McKinnon Curator of Modern &amp; Contemporary Art at the Chrysler Museum, Norfolk, VA; a Mellon Doctoral Fellow at The Newark Museum, NJ; and the Director of Exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Art (MoCADA), Brooklyn. She has curated numerous exhibitions and gallery reinstallations including the Brooklyn Museum\u2019s iteration of <em>A Movement in Every Direction: Legacies of the Great Migration<\/em>, as well <em>as Black Orpheus: Jacob Lawrence &amp; the Mbari Club<\/em> (2022), <em>Journey\u2019s Across the Border: U.S. &amp; Mexico<\/em> (2021-22), <em>Tuan Andrew Nguyen: The Boat People<\/em> (2021), <em>Brendan Fernandes: Bodily Forms<\/em> (2020) and <em>John Akomfrah: Tropikos<\/em> (2019). Gant has contributed texts to <em>Anywhere But Here: Black Intellectuals in the Atlantic World and Beyond<\/em> (2015); <em>NKA: Journal of Contemporary African Art, Art Lies and African Arts<\/em>; and exhibition catalogs for The Newark Museum; The Contemporary Austin, TX; the Studio Museum of Harlem, New York, NY; MoCADA; Paris Photo, France; and the Centre for Contemporary Art Lagos, Nigeria. Before that, she was lead curator for the Fidelity Investments Corporate Art Collection, Boston, MA. Gaston has been Curator of Prints and Photographs, University of New Mexico Art Museum, Albuquerque; Curator, Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, CA; and Associate Director, San Francisco Camerawork, CA. She received a BA and MA in Art History from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, where she focused on postwar American photography and contemporary works on paper. She has authored numerous catalog essays and exhibition reviews, and overseen installations and collaborations with contemporary artists around the globe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tamarind Institute is a lithography workshop which began as Tamarind Lithography Workshop, a nonprofit corporation founded by June Wayne in Los Angeles, CA in 1960. Selected artists will work with our Jensen Bryan Curator on the selection of works and installation design.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Artists are responsible for delivery\/shipping to and from The Print Center, and other costs not explicitly covered by The Print Center, including framing (if required).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The Print Center provides<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The venue, professional installation and deinstallation, gallery signage and labels, and insurance while work is on The Print Center\u2019s premises.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Publicity including visual branding for the exhibitions, promotion via press release to over 2,500 press outlets, exhibition announcement cards mailed to 2,500 individuals, website presence, weekly email newsletters to 10,000 and social media posts on Facebook and Instagram.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Documentation, including professional photographic documentation and Gallery Notes \u2013 a full color, professionally printed exhibition brochure, distributed free of charge to visitors, and available as a pdf on The Print Center\u2019s website.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Sales<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If artworks are available for sale, The Print Center will facilitate the transaction, including shipping. The Print Center will receive a 50% commission on works sold. The Print Center will pay the artist\u2019s commission 90 days from the close of sale.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Liability<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Print Center is not responsible for damage to work during shipping or delivery.
