Join us as we host a Book Launch & Conversation with Andrea Modica <\/strong>and learn more about her new publication, Theatrum Equorum<\/em>, published by TIS Books. Presented in conjunction with Modica’s eponymous exhibition at the Berman Museum of Art, Ursinus College<\/a>, she will be joined in conversation by the show’s curator and <\/span>Berman Museum Creative Director, <\/span>Deborah Barkun<\/strong><\/span>; and Nelson Chan<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>co-founder of TIS Books.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Modica\u2019s series “Theatrum Equorum” captures horses in states of recovery from surgery after procedures such as fracture repair or tooth extraction. It also includes images of the surgical tools essential for these procedures.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s something sacred about about the animals and the process of being able to go through this with them\u2014a state of extreme vulnerability for an animal of that power.<\/em><\/p>\n
