Join us for an Artist Talk with Mary Enoch Elizabeth Baxter<\/strong>, presented both in-person and on Zoom. This program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition\u00a0Mary Enoch Elizabeth Baxter: Epilogues of the Black Madonna<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, on view at The Print Center January 23 \u2013 April 4, 2026. Baxter will discuss her career, the works in the exhibition and her artistic inspirations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mary Enoch Elizabeth Baxter\u00a0(born 1981,\u00a0Philadelphia, PA; lives Philadelphia) has\u00a0an AA from the Community College of\u00a0Philadelphia and is an MFA candidate at\u00a0Tyler School of Art & Architecture, Temple\u00a0University, Philadelphia. Baxter\u2019s work was\u00a0included in the monumental exhibition,\u00a0Marking Time: Art in the Age of Mass\u00a0<\/em>Incarceration<\/em>, 2020, and has also been\u00a0shown at the Brooklyn Museum, NY;\u00a0National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati, OH;\u00a0Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, CT; Ford Foundation Gallery\u00a0and MoMA PS1, both New York, NY; African American Museum\u00a0of Philadelphia; and Kittredge Gallery, University of Puget Sound,\u00a0Tacoma, WA. She received a public art commission from the\u00a0For\u00a0<\/em>Freedoms<\/em>\u00a0project in 2022. Baxter was an executive producer and a\u00a0featured subject of the feature-length documentary\u00a0Paint Me a Road\u00a0<\/em>Out of Here<\/em>, 2024, about Faith Ringgold. She has received honors\u00a0and awards from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Anonymous\u00a0was a Woman, Soros Justice Fellowship, Art Matters and the Leeway\u00a0Foundation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
