We are pleased to invite you to a Summer Soir\u00e9e!<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Join us for our spring fundraiser with special guest Ron Tarver<\/strong><\/span>, a Pulitzer Prize-winning, Philadelphia-based photographer.<\/p>\n

The evening will begin at 5:30pm with\u00a0delicious hors d\u2019oeuvres and summer cocktails. Guests will also enjoy a final look at America Today: Voices in Contemporary Print <\/em><\/a>and a sneak preview of our fall exhibition.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong><\/span>Experience an intimate, guided walkthrough with Jensen Bryan Curator Lauren Rosenblum.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong><\/span>Hear about our fall exhibition, The Long Ride Home, Black Cowboys in America<\/em> from Ron Tarver, who will share stories about his multi-decade project on Black cowboy culture.<\/p>\n

Supporters<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>will enjoy cocktails and conversation with Tarver and tour of America Today. ($250 per person)<\/em><\/p>\n

Patrons<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>will enjoy the perks listed above, plus a signed first edition of the award-winning The Long Ride Home: Black Cowboys in America<\/em> with a 9 1\/2\u201d x 11\u201d, editioned print of Worn Felt Hat<\/em>, 1994. ($600 per person, $750 per couple)<\/em><\/p>\n

Ron Tarver<\/strong><\/span> is a Philadelphia-based, internationally recognized photographer. Born in Oklahoma, he has a BA in Journalism and Graphic Arts from Northeastern State University, OK and an MFA from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia. He is a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist from his years at The Philadelphia Inquirer<\/em>; he also received awards from World Press Photos and the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Pew Fellowship in the Arts. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is included in collections including: National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution; Studio Museum in Harlem; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
