Please join us\u00a0for The Print Center’s spring fundraiser, Dinner Date,\u00a0with artist Jesse Burke<\/strong> and renowned collector Robert Morrison<\/strong> April 27, 2016.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Jesse Burke<\/a>\u00a0is known for his dramatically vivid photographs. His\u00a0Wild & Precious<\/em> series was created over the last five years, as he traveled across the country with his young daughter Clover exploring, communing and sometimes bumping up against nature. The series, and its accompanying book, have generated international attention, not only for its beautiful images, but also for its intimate depiction of the close relationship between the photographer and his collaborator\/daughter. It also tells the story of our relationship to our environment, urging us to rebuild our connections with\u00a0the natural world. Works from Burke’s Wild & Precious<\/em> series are included in By the Book<\/em>, The Print Center’s\u00a0current exhibition<\/a>.<\/div>\n

Burke holds an MFA from RISD, Providence, RI, where he teaches photography, and a BFA from the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. Recent exhibitions include solo shows at the RISD Museum, Providence, RI; ClampArt, New York, NY; Newspace Center for Photography, Portland, OR; and Rayko Photo Center, San Francisco, CA. Burke\u2019s work is included in many public collections including the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Columbia College, Chicago, IL; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; RISD Museum, Providence, RI; North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh, NC; Newport Art Museum, Newport, RI; and, David Winton Bell Gallery, Brown University, Providence, RI. This past fall he was a guest host on The Print Center\u2019s Instagram feed, as part of our Centennial celebration. An exhibition of Burke\u2019s work, paired with the photographer Nils Ericson, was organized by The Print Center in 2011.<\/div>\n

Dinner Date will begin at The Print Center at 6:00pm with a private champagne tour of Burke’s work in our exhibition By the Book<\/em> led by the artist and John Caperton, Jensen Bryan Curator. A fabulous dinner will follow at Morrison’s exceptional Center City home.<\/div>\n
