Join us for an evening with photographer\u00a0Jack Carnell <\/strong>and Fall Line Press.\u00a0<\/strong>Carnell\u00a0<\/strong>will\u00a0talk about his\u00a0work and the release of his new book True Places<\/em><\/strong>, published by our friends at Fall Line.<\/p>\n Carnell spent ten years making repeat visits to Georgia. The photographs in this book grew out of his experience of the South and the “true places” that captured his imagination.<\/p>\n It is not down in any map; true places never are.<\/em> True Places\u00a0<\/em>will be available for purchase and signing following the talk. Also available in a deluxe edition of 40 in a clam shell box with a signed 8″ x 10\u201d photographic print, $350.<\/p>\n This event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jack Carnell<\/strong> was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the suburb of Elmhurst. In 1974 he received a BFA degree in photography from The University of New Mexico and in 1976 Carnell received a MFA degree in photography from The Tyler School of Art, Temple University. In 1980 he received a NEA grant for emerging photographers and in 1988 a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship. Carnell\u2019s work is in the collections of several national museums including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Institute of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
