Shauna Frischkorn (Willow Street, PA) holds an MFA in Photography from SUNY at Buffalo, NY. Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and exhibitions, including the Jen Bekman Gallery, New York, NY; Philadelphia Art Alliance; and The Center for Photography at Woodstock, NY. She has received a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship. Her work is in the collections of Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA; University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA; and the Microsoft Art Collection, Redmond, WA.
Statement: Festival Portraits
My photographs explore the unique relationship between photography and music. To make these portraits, I photograph at music festivals around the state of Pennsylvania each summer. At first glance it would appear that attending a music festival is a shared experience, however, these portraits reveal that listening to live music is also a deeply personal solo activity.
