Neil Rivas (San Francisco, CA) is an MFA candidate at California College of the Arts, San Francisco, CA. He received his BFA in Art Photography from California State University, Long Beach, CA. His current art practice consists of photography, interdisciplinary works, public interventions, and multimedia projects. In 2009, he participated in the MORFO International Artist Residency Program, and Residencias artÃsticas con Luis Camnitzer through the Spanish Cooperation (AECID), both in Guatemala. In 2005, he was the recipient of an Odyssey Theme Project Grant and most recently, was awarded an IMPACT Social Entrepreneurship Award as part of the project, 20/20 Foto. He has worked internationally as an artist, photojournalist, educator, and community organizer, and has exhibited his work in the United States, Guatemala, El Salvador and Japan.
