Michele Burgess

Michele Burgess (San Diego) works in printmaking, painting, sculpture and book arts. She is the Director of Brighton Press, San Diego, and collaborates with other artists and poets on projects which involve the book as an art medium. She received her MFA from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI in 1985. Burgess’ artist’s books are in public collections across the country and have been exhibited at the Cranbrook Art Museum, Bloomfield Hills, MI; Fresno Art Museum; Musee´d’Art Americain, Giverny, France; Craft and Folk Art Museum, Los Angeles; Oceanside Museum of Art, Oceanside, CA; and National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC. She teaches in the art departments at San Diego State University and the University of San Diego.
