Statement from the Artist:
As a chronically ill person I make photographs to consider the uncertainties of living in an autoimmune body. I look at every moment within reach to reckon with the porous nature of the body, mind, nervous system, and memory, to think about and contribute to representations of sickness in fine art photography. I respond to the speculative and erratic nature of my illness, its unknown causes, and methods of medical intervention to visually contemplate what cannot be anticipated, articulated, or immediately explained in words alone.
