The Print Center is pleased to present these exhibitions, which were awarded to three of the ten Finalists selected from the 635 international artists who applied to our 95th ANNUAL International Competition. The ANNUAL is one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in the United States. It highlights local, national and international artists who utilize photography and printmaking in intriguing ways, both in content and in process. Each year the ANNUAL is juried by distinguished colleagues. This year, the jurors were David Campany, Managing Director of Programs at the International Center of Photography and Larissa Goldston, Director of Universal Limited Art Editions (ULAE). 

The nature of the competition – an open call – always reveals the exciting work being done in print, which reflects the diversity of the art world today. This year’s exhibiting artists are thoughtful when it comes to addressing timely topics, whether race or gentrification, and are consummate in their use of the materiality and mechanics of their media. At this critical time, The Print Center is excited to share their work virtually with audiences around the world. 

In addition to the virtual exhibitions, each artist has been commissioned to create a site-specific installation for Windows on Latimer. This series was conceived in response to our temporary closure due to COVID-19, and utilizes our iconic bay window in Center City Philadelphia as an exhibition space, providing safe and easy access to art from the street.
