Cooper Holoweski (born 1981, Detroit, MI; lives Detroit) works in print, video and sculpture, exploring the intersection of spirituality and consumerism through everyday objects and materials. Holoweski received a BFA in political science and BA in printmaking from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence. He has had solo exhibitions at venues including Clocktower Gallery at Pioneer WorksandSmall Editions, both Brooklyn, NY; and CCS Center Galleries, Detroit, MI. He has held residencies in the US at Clocktower Gallery, Lower East Side Printshop and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, all New York, NY; and internationally at Taller 99, Santiago, Chile; and Gallery Titanik, Turku, Finland. His work has been featured in Art in America and Art in Print. In 2017, he was awarded the Prix de Print by Art in Print and in 2019, his short film “As Above, So Below” won Best Regional Filmmaker at the 57th annual Ann Arbor Film Festival in 2019. Holoweski is currently the Artist-In-Residence and co-Head of the Print Media department at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI.
