Mehdi Darvishi

Mehdi Darvishi (born 1988, Iran; lives Corpus Christi, TX) grew up in his war-stricken hometown during the Iran – Iraq peace resolution, unexposed to art galleries and museums. He received a BFA in painting at the University of Tehran in 2011, where he additionally learned basic printmaking techniques such as relief and intaglio. He has since exhibited his work in over 30 countries including Canada, Finland, Lebanon and Poland. Darvishi’s work is held in public collections including at the Library of Congress, Washington, DC; and internationally at the China Printmaking Museum, Shenzhen; the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art; and the Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, Russia. He has received multiple awards and residences, and his work has been published in Printmaking Today and featured on the podcast Hello, Print Friend. Darvishi currently attends and teaches at Texas A&M University, College Station.
