Christine Osinski (born 1948, Chicago, IL; lives in Ridgefield, CT) has a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL and an MFA from Yale University, New Haven, CT. She has exhibited her work at Contemporary Calgary, Alberta; University of California Berkeley Art Museum; Brooklyn Museum, NY; Sasha Wolf Gallery, New York, NY; Joseph Bellows Gallery, La Jolla, CA; Alice Austen House Museum, Staten Island, NY; Everson Art Museum, Syracuse, NY; and the National Portrait Gallery, Washington, DC; among others. Her work is included in permanent collections of the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Boston, MA; Cincinnati Museum of Art, OH; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; Museum of the City of New York and Museum of Modern Art, both New York, NY; and Portland Art Museum, OR; as well as the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris, France. Her work has been featured in and covered by Aperture; BBC News, The Guardian, The New Yorker; The New York Times, Wall Street Journal; The Boston Globe and vogue.com. Osinski has been awarded fellowships and grants from the Graham Foundation, Guggenheim Foundation, New York State Council on the Arts and  Pollock-Krasner Foundation. She is a Professor Emeritus, Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, New York, NY.

Statement from the Artist:
Portraits of young artists and their sites of production have become my subjects. These extended portraits are made by combining lens-based images with actual, physical materials.  The images are platforms where disparate elements converse with each other.
