The Print Center Gallery Store Award Winner
Kat Richards (born 1991; lives Philadelphia, PA) is an artist that works in printmaking, drawing and sculpture. Richards received a BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Kansas, Lawrence and an MFA in Printmaking from Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University, Philadelphia. Their recent work investigates the potential of bodies through the lens of queer and feminist ideology. Richards has taught at or been a visiting artist at institutions including the Women Studio Workshop, University of Kansas, Hales Gallery and Kansas City Art Institute. They have exhibited nationally at locations including Wonder Fair, Lawrence, KS; Stella Elkins Gallery, Philadelphia; Anderson Gallery, Richmond, VA; and Bellevue Art Museum and Mount Analogue Gallery, both Seattle. Recently, they were awarded the Artist-in-Residence Fellowship at Anderson Ranch Art Center and the Merit Grant at Vermont Studio Center.
