Miguel A. Aragón (Ciudad Juárez, México) received his MFA from the University of Texas, Austin. In 2013 he relocated to Brooklyn, NY, and he is currently an Assistant Professor in Printmaking at the CUNY College of Staten Island, NY. His work is included in A Survey of Contemporary Printmaking and Arte Tejano: de campos, barrios y fronteras (published by Smithsonian Latino Center and Fundación OSDE). In 2012 he received the Artist of the Year in Printmaking Award by the Austin Visual Arts Association and the Austin Critics’ Table Award for Artist of the Year, both Austin, TX. Aragón’s work has been exhibited at the Austin Museum of Art, Austin, TX; FotoFest, Houston, TX; International Print Center New York, New York, NY; Intersection for the Arts, San Francisco, CA; Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, CA; OSDE Espacio de Arte, Argentina; and Mexic‐Arte Museum, Austin, TX; and internationally in Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and the United Kingdom. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Fort Wayne, IN; Mexic-Arte Museum, Austin, TX; National Museum of Mexican Art, Chicago, IL; and University of Arkansas, Little Rock, AR. Aragón is a recipient of the 2014-2015 Kala Art Institute Fellowship. In the summer of 2015 he will work on a project at the Peenemünde Historical Technical Museum in Germany in conjunction with the Till Richter Museum Schloss Buggenhagen.
