Students at the School of the Future explored topics of identity, the passage of time and future aspirations through the conceptual and methodological framework of Martin Puryear’s use of line. Students began the residency by working two-dimensionally on paper to learn a variety of printmaking processes, including monotypes, collograph and relief. They also experimented with hand-altering their own digital photographs. Students then gathered all of their works on paper and selected pieces to use to create a three-dimensional form. They built sculptural structures using wire, onto which they sewed and glued their prints and photographs.
