Fall 2022 Curricular Framework: Life During Wartime and A Kaleidoscopic View
In the spring 2023, curricula responded to the exhibitions: Ukrainian Photography Today and A Kaleidoscopic View: Recent Prints from Graphicstudio on view at The Print Center. The works in this dual exhibition engaged many artists from multiple, diverse backgrounds during a particularly charged moment of global crisisinviting viewers to consider diverse artistic voices within the context of transnational, global experience. The artists challenge viewers not only to shift their perspective, but also to consider multiple overlapping perspectives and identities all at once. This “kaleidoscopic view” invites viewers to step beyond their comfort zones and engage imaginatively and empathically with the perspectives of others. Themes derived from this dual exhibition that inspired AISP participants included: Global Consciousness, Duality, and Point of View.
