Daydream Books was the curriculum title for students at Kensington Health Sciences Academy, who made block prints utilizing found books. Using the Google “Image Search” function, students explored the randomness of imagery connected to their interests. At the beginning stages of the semester, students both conducted research and allowed themselves to “get sidetracked” by the inundation of information they experience with the internet in their everyday lives. Using relief printing and monoprinting with everyday art materials found in the classroom, students made printed and collaged books that combined their research findings with imagery associated with their daydreams and personal interests.
