David Emitt Adams: Fish/Pearce Award (excellence in hand-altered, manipulated process work)

David Emitt Adams (Phoenix, AZ) is an artist whose current practice engages historical media and uses them in an informed contemporary dialogue about photography’s past and present.  He obtained his BFA from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio and a MFA from Arizona State University, Phoenix, AZ. His work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, CA; Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Santa Barbara, CA; The Center for Creative Photography, Tucson, AZ; and numerous private collections. Adams has given artist lectures at the San Francisco Art Institute sponsored by PhotoAlliance, the Carnegie Museum of Art as part of the f295 Symposium, the Medium Festival of Photography in San Diego, and the 50th Anniversary Society of Photographic Education Conference in Chicago. The Etherton Gallery, Tucson, AZ, and Photo-Eye Gallery, Santa Fe, NM represent his work.
