Denis Gillingwater (Phoenix, AZ) received his BFA and MFA from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH, and is a Professor at Arizona State University, Phoenix, AZ. Numerous solo exhibitions and/or installations include the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York, NY; Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Ireland; Center for Contemporary Arts, Santa Fe, NM; Bartlett Gallery, University College London, UK; and the Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix, AZ. In the fall of 2014 he will have a solo exhibition at the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art (LACDA), Los Angeles, CA. His work has been included in group exhibitions at Artists Space, New York, NY; Sao Paulo Biennale, Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, CO. In 2013, his work was exhibited in shows at the SoHo Photo Gallery, New York, NY; Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, CA; Art Intersection Gallery, Phoenix, AZ; and LACDA, Los Angeles, CA. Numerous residencies have occurred with the most recent at the American Academy in Rome in 2008 and 2010.
