Jon Feinstein (b. 1981, New York; lives in Seattle and New York) is a photographer, curator, writer and co-founder of the Humble Arts Foundation. His curatorial projects have been featured in Aperture, The New York Times, BBC, The New Yorker, Hyperallergic, Feature Shoot and American Photo. His writing has appeared in VICE, Photograph, TIME, Slate, GOOD, Daylight and PDN. His photographs have been exhibited around the U.S. and have been published in VICE, Booooooom, Slate, Paper Journal and Ain’t-Bad’s 2018 photography annual. Feinstein teaches photography and visual literacy at Photographic Center Northwest, Seattle. His latest series “Breathers” uses typological black and white photographs of Pacific Northwest trees as a metaphor for his mother-in-law’s early onset Alzheimer’s and the trauma and gaps in cognition it leaves in the brain.
