Fall 2023 Curricular Framework: Vivid Abstraction
In the fall 2023, curricula responded to two solo exhibitions presented at The Print Center: Raque Ford: Where do I start? and Kat Richards: Shapes of Change. Ford and Richards both work primarily in monoprint, a process in which a variety of surfaces are printed upon to make unique artworks. Themes from these exhibitions that inspired AISP participants included: Abstraction, Personal Narrative and Layering.
Spring 2024 Curricular Framework: Feminism
In spring 2024, curricula responded to exhibitions on view at The Print Center – Nancy Hellebrand: EVERYBODYBEAUTIFUL, Stephanie Santana: Ways of Knowing and Martie Zelt: Land Strider. For these female-identifying artists working decades apart, explorations of a diversity of materials and processes were foundational to their understanding of the world around them, collectively presenting three different perspectives within feminist ideology. Themes from the exhibition that inspired AISP participants included: Feminism/Feminist Art, Ideals of Beauty, Vernacular Photography, Approaches to Portraiture and Materiality.
