Nif Hodgson: The Renaissance Graphic Arts Award

Nif Hodgson (Los Angeles, CA) received a BA from the University of Texas, Austin, and her MFA in Fine Art and Printmaking at San Francisco State University in 2012. Her work has been included in recent exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, as well as England, and exhibited in nonprofit art spaces, galleries, museums and art fairs. She is a recent artist-in-residence at Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, CA, and has received awards for her work including The Bryan Robertson Trust Award and The Murphy, Cadogan, & Phelan Fellowship from the San Francisco Foundation.  Hodgson employs the repeatable, unpredictable and tactile qualities of printmaking to explore ideas of permanence, change, and perception. She publishes artist’s books, ephemera and collaborative works under the imprint Subtext Press.
