Shawn Bitters

Shawn Bitters (Lawrence, KS) received his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI in 2005. His solo shows include Allegra LaViola Gallery, New York, NY; Swarm Gallery, Oakland, CA; and The Hall of Awa Handmade Japanese Paper Museum, Japan. He has also shown at the International Print Center New York and Dieu Donné Papermill, both New York, NY; Leonard Pearlstein Gallery, Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA and the Visual Art Center, University of Texas, Austin, TX. He is currently preparing for the exhibition Due North to be held at the Ice Box Gallery, Philadelphia, PA in 2014. He has been an artist-in-residence at several international residencies including the Frans Masereel Centrum, Kasterlee, Belgium; The Hall of Awa Handmade Japanese Paper Museum, Japan; and the Danish Council of Artists Residency, Hirsholm Island, Denmark.
