Joan Wadleigh Curran (Philadelphia, PA) received her BS in Art at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY, and her MFA at Yale University, New Haven, CT. She has had solo exhibitions of her work in galleries in Philadelphia and New York, as well as at the Philadelphia International Airport; Wagner Free Institute of Science, Philadelphia; and Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC. Her work has been included in numerous group shows including recent ones at the Anchorage Museum, AK; High Museum of Art, Atlanta; Columbus Museum of Art, OH; Michener Art Museum, Doylestown, PA; Arkansas Art Center, Little Rock; Courtauld Institute of Art, London; and Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia. Her work has been supported by grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Independence Foundation. She was a Senior Lecturer in Painting and Drawing at the University of Pennsylvania School of Design, Philadelphia, from 2001 to 2016.
Joan Wadleigh Curran was awarded the Awagami Paper Award.
