Laura Berman (Kansas City, MO) received her BFA from Alfred University, Alfred, NY, and her MFA from Tulane University, New Orleans. She has exhibited in over 150 galleries and museums around the world, and her work is represented by Olson-Larsen Galleries, Des Moines, IA; Weinberger Fine Art, Kansas City, MO; Uprise Art, New York; and Long View Gallery, Washington, DC. Berman regularly publishes large-scale monoprint projects with Pele Prints, St. Louis, and she has been an artist-in-residence at Can Serrat Art Center, El Bruc, Spain; Frans Masereel Centrum, Kasterlee, Belgium; Atlantic Center for the Arts, New Smyrna Beach, FL; Artspace, Raleigh; and Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Snowmass Village, CO. Her work is featured in two recent publications: Contemporary American Printmakers, Printmaking at the Edge and A Survey of Contemporary Printmaking. She is a Professor at Kansas City Art Institute where she has taught printmaking and book arts since 2002. Together with her family, she runs Prairieside Cottage and Outpost, a family-friendly artist retreat in the Flint Hills region of Matfield Green, KS.
