Statement from the Artist:
Daniel George’s work examines conventional objects and places as indicators of identity, belief and culture. Through long-term, research-driven projects, he explores how rituals, materials and landscapes reflect broader ideological structures. His images often center on the quotidian – such as framing customs, material culture and collective practices as narrative devices. Grounded in observation and subtle humor, George’s practice draws from the visual language of archives and typologies to study how individuals leave traces of themselves in the world. His photographs consider how creativity, history, tradition and ideology intersect in everyday life, revealing the ways culture is formed, sustained and quietly transformed over time.
