Rachel Ostrow (b. 1977, Baltimore, MD; l. Brooklyn, NY) has a BA from Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT; a post-baccalaureate degree from Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore; and an MFA from Hunter College, New York, NY. She has had solo exhibitions at Sunday Takeout, Brooklyn, NY; John Davis Gallery, Hudson, NY; The Kenan Center, Lockport, NY; 42 Social Club, Lyme, CT; and Morgan Lehman Gallery and Planthouse, both New York, NY; as well as the Cill Rialaig Project, Ballinskelligs, Ireland. Ostrow has work in the public collections of the Burchfield Penney Art Center, Buffalo, NY; Capital Group; Fidelity; and the Montefiore Einstein Hospital, New York, NY. She has been awarded residencies at the Millay Colony, Austerlitz, NY; Gowanus Studio Space, Brooklyn, NY; Vermont Studio Center, Johnson; Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency, CA; Kimmel Harding Nelson Center, Nebraska City, NE; Golden Foundation New Berlin, NY; and Cill Rialaig Project. Ostrow’s work has been mentioned in Artforum, The New York Times and The Niagara Gazette.
