Jackelin Espinosa Moyotl

Jackelin Espinosa Moyotl (b. 2000, Huejotzingo, Puebla, Mexico, l. Madison, WI) has a BFA from Herron School of Art and Design, Indianapolis, IN. Her research centers around her family’s experience as undocumented Mexican immigrants and its impact on daily life. Although her work is grounded in her family’s narrative, it reflects the shared experiences of approximately four million undocumented immigrants. She has exhibited at galleries nationally, including at Grounded Studio and Pilsen Arts & Community House, both Chicago, IL; El Paso Print Pachanga, Moonlight Adobe Hall, TX; Newfields and Indianapolis Art Center, both Indianapolis, IN; Munzón Gallery, Long Beach, CA; and Gallery Seven, Madison, WI. She has received an Anderson Ranch Art Center BIPOC Scholarship, Diuguid Textile Scholarship, Graduate Student Creative Arts Award from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Haystack Mountain School of Craft Fellowship and a Penland School of Crafts Scholarship. Moyotl’s work has appeared in publications including Mid-American Print Journal and Possibilities and Pathways.
