Jency Sekaran

Jency Sekaran (b. 1990, Westwood, NJ; l. New York, NY) has a BA from Augusta University, GA and Master in Public Health from Georgia State University, Atlanta. Sekeran’s work has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in New York, NY including at Atlantic Gallery. Sekaran completed a residency with In Situ Polyculture, and works as an epidemiologist for the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Statement from the Artist:
Sekaran’s work explores identity’s intersectionality. Combining media including printmaking, embroidery and ceramics, she depicts stories demonstrating the complexity of being a third culture person in America.
