Marcin Białas (Zawiercie, Poland) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Katowice, Poland and received a diploma at the Intaglio Printing Studio of Professor Jan Szmatloch in 2004. In 2011 he obtained a Doctor of Arts degree. Bialas is a member of the teaching staff and is the Chair of Graphic Art at the Academy of Fine Arts, Katowice, Poland. He has had several solo exhibitions in Poland, Canada, Romania and Germany and has participated in over one hundred group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Bialas received grants from The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation in 2005, Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Foundation in 2006, Silesian Voivode, Poland in 2007, Minister of Culture and National Heritage in 2007-2010.
