Leah Mackin: The Print Center Solo Exhibition and Artist & Craftsman Award

Leah Mackin (Pittsburgh, PA) received her BFA from The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA and her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL. Her works have been shown in solo presentations at Western Exhibitions and The Printer’s Ball, both in Chicago, IL; and numerous group exhibitions including: sophiajacob, Baltimore, MD; Space 1026, Philadelphia, PA; & Pens, Los Angeles, CA; Slusser Gallery at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI; Quarter Gallery at The University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN; and Forum Gallery at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI. In addition to being named a Finalist in The Print Center’s 90th Annual Competition, she has received a number of awards, scholarships and honors, including an Artist’s Book Residency Grant at the Women’s Studio Workshop, Rosendale, NY; a LeRoy Neiman Scholarship to attend the Ox­Bow School of Art, Saugatuck, MI; the Roads Scholarship for Research and Travel, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL; and one time, most accurately guessed the Weight of the Pumpkin at Reading Terminal Market, Philadelphia, PA. Mackin’s print and book works are held in numerous collections including the Brooklyn Museum Library, the Rare Book & Manuscript Library at the University of Pennsylvania, the Joan Flasch Artist Book Collection at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Print and Picture Collection of The Free Library of Philadelphia and the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas.

Leah Mackin received a Solo Exhibition at The Print Center (May 6 – August 6, 2016) and was awarded The Artist & Craftsman Award ($100 gift certificate).
