Lya Finston
Semifinalist

Lya Finston (born 1995, Brooklyn, NY; lives Iowa City, IA) has a BA from Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH and an MA from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Her work has been shown at PrintAustin, TX; the Samek Art Museum, Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA; and the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria, IA. Finston’s work is held in the Marais Press Print Collection, University of Louisiana, Lafayette; and the Norlin Special Collections Library, University of Colorado Boulder. She has received fellowships from the Cleveland Museum of Art, Spudnik Press Cooperative and the University of Iowa. Her work has appeared in publications including Art in Print, The Hand Magazine and Mid America Print Council Journal. Finston is currently pursuing an MFA from the University of Iowa.
