Nancy Floyd

Nancy Floyd (born 1956, Monticello, MN; lives Bend, OR) received a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA from Columbia College Chicago, IL, and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, Santa Clarita. Floyd’s artwork is held in the collections of the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA; Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, IL; Light Work, Syracuse, NY; and the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson, AZ. She has received numerous grants and awards including an Aaron Siskind Photography Fellowship, a John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, the International Center of Photography/GOST First Photobook Award, a John Gutman Photography Fellowship and the Victoria & Albert Parasol Foundation Prize for Women in Photography. Her work was also featured as part of PLAYA Wildfire + Water: Artists and Scientists Collaborating for Change, a collaborative residency. Floyd’s 39-year self-portrait series, “Weathering Time,” was published by the International Center of Photography and GOST Books and the work was featured in The New Yorker’s “Photobooth.” Floyd is Emerita Professor in the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design, Georgia State University, Atlanta.
