printPHILLY! 2025 Lecture: The Print Center and the Continuous Contemporary

April 12 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Bertha von Moschzisker, who became the Second Director of The Print Center in 1944, shown in the first floor gallery.

Join Lauren Rosenblum, Jensen Bryan Curator, at The Free Library’s Parkway Central Library, Heim Center (Room 131/132), for a lecture on the history of The Print Center, presented as part of the printPHILLY! 2025 print fair.

Since our founding in 1915, The Print Center has been a medium-specific venue dedicated to printmaking and photography as fine arts. In many ways, our core programming has persisted. Exhibitions reflect the concerns of their times and the gallery store cultivates a buying public to support working artists. How, then, can these two platforms be understood to have defined over one hundred years of modern and contemporary graphics?

Free and open to the public.
