Jan Gordon is an exceptional art collector with a long connection to The Print Center, developed through her friendship with Sam Maitin, Kneeland McNulty and Berthe von Moschzisker. She has a special interest in Philadelphia artists which she initially explored with gallerist Marian Locks. Gordon enjoys acquiring artworks by artists she knows personally, especially women. She has built a collection featuring Maitin, Elizabeth Osborne and Edna Andrade; and more recently, has become a dedicated collector of Jane Irish’s remarkable works.
Jane Irish is an outstanding Philadelphia artist. She has been in important exhibitions at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia Museum of Art and ICA, Philadelphia; the Walker Art Center; Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; and the Baltimore Museum of Art. She has received prestigious recognitions from the Pew Fellowships in the Arts, the Joan Mitchell Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts as well as residencies all over the world. Irish is represented by Locks Gallery.
Drs. Marsha + Stephen Silberstein have created a home filled with an impressive collection of art, with an especially strong selection of classic and contemporary photographs. They have works of art from all over the world, as well as an exceptional group of pieces by Philadelphia artists. From Brassai to Sally Mann and Vic Muniz to Isaiah Zagar – this is a visit not to be missed!
